This tool is made to lay down a consistent line of wax. It can also be used to lay down dots and little "points" of wax. Simply melt down a small amount of paint or wax medium in the reservoir and then carefully touch the Flow Pen to your substrate. The needle that runs down the reservoir will be pushed up; releasing the flow of melted wax. This is ideal for batik artists and for artists who want to try pointillism or get a nice heavy line in their work. The Encaustic Flow Pen is not interchangeable with our other pen or brush attachments. The flow pen tip is permanently affixed to the heating tool and used exclusively for line and dot work. Like our other tools you must control the temperature to the Flow Pen otherwise you will burn the wax paint and create unnecessary fumes. To control the heat please purchase a temperature regulator unless you already have one.
